CorridorWatch.org History

CorridorWatch.org was born on February 21, 2004, as a tool to educate the public about the Trans Texas Corridor project.  The name coined by founder Linda Stall of Fayetteville, Texas, was chosen to identify an organization she was forming to challenge the wisdom of the Trans Texas Corridor.  Assisted by her husband, David Stall, a website was created within two days to support her efforts.  Over the next five days Linda appeared before numerous groups to urge their attendance at a Trans Texas Corridor hearing in LaGrange, Texas on February 25, 2004.  Her efforts paid-off and more than 70 participants filled the meeting room to overflow. [more

Within the first week CorridorWatch.org grew to include members in eleven Texas counties. At the end of the first month CorridorWatch.org had grown to include members in 33 Texas counties.

On June 6, 2004, one hundred days after CorridorWatch.org had been formed it had members in 55 Texas counties. Six of those counties included elected officials among the members.

We do not disclose the number of CorridorWatch.org members, however today's membership numbers in the thousands and continues to frequently attract new members.

Who's behind CorridorWatch.org? Linda and David Stall that's who.  That's it. Just them. No other organization or special interest group. Oh sure, they're attracting lots of supporters. And CorridorWatch.org is growing every day, but so far it has been the personal effort of just two very concerned citizens. And yes, they do welcome the support of all like minded individuals and groups who wish to join them in Challenging the Wisdom of the Trans Texas Corridor.

Linda is an Escrow Officer in LaGrange, Texas; and, David is the City Administrator of Shoreacres, Texas.  Both live in Fayetteville, Fayette County, Texas and have previously lived and worked in the Houston area.
