Stall Family

This photograph was received by e-mail this morning.  The man at the left end of the front row is my great-great-great-grandfather's brother, Daniel Stall (1819-1903) and his family.  In the front row at the right end is his wife, Mary.  David is Daniel's 3rd great-grandnephew.  (circa 1880)

This photograph was also received by e-mail this morning.  At the time of this photo, Daniel Stall was deceased and his widow Mary is shown second from the left.  The three men in the photograph are brothers and more of David's 3rd great-granduncles.  (circa 1910)

"I'm Ready!"  Linda is ready for breakfast.  Here she is standing on the freshly mowed backyard lawn.  David got the backyard, front ditches, and fence lines all mowed before breakfast.  (08.11.02)

After breakfast David unloaded a fence post out at the southeast corner of the property, behind the big barn.  Setting this corner post will be the first step in building a new fence across the back of the property and along the side of the barn towards the Scheel House.  Once across the creek we can tie into the existing fence at the stock pins next to the Scheel House.  After those two sections of fence are up, David will build another larger donkey pen including all of the area and foreground where the truck is parked in the photograph.  (08.11.02)

With the truck unloaded, we went to town (Fayetteville) and picked up our 1941 Chambers stove.  They set it in the back of the truck with a forklift (on a pallet).  Wednesday we'll drive it to Houston where the Macy's Classic Stoveworks Company will completely overhaul it to work like new.  It will probably be more than a month before it returns to the Jurecka Farmhouse.  (08.11.02)

Scheel House

Last night (Saturday) Linda held cut-to-fit skirt panels in place while David attached them to the Scheel House with screws.  Here's the result as seen Sunday.  We will rivet metal corners in place in the near future.  (08.11.02)

David had the four newly installed panels painted by noon.  The one panel at the far left is still giving us fits.  It is supposed to slide up under the side boards in front of the sill.  However, its apparently hitting something and won't go up into place.  Since there's more than enough other things to do, it will wait for another turn later.  (08.11.02)
