Joseph P. "Joe" Krier is President and CEO of the Greater San
Antonio Chamber of Commerce.
Krier is a member of San Antonio Mobility Coalition (SAMCO) a public-private
partnership, and in 2006 served as Chairman.
Krier is
an executive member of the North
American Free Trade Alliance and Free Trade Alliance San
Antonio.
Governor Rick Perry
appointed Krier
to serve on a
three-member panel tasked with reviewing the state's
transportation financing mechanisms. The Study Commission on
Transportation Financing was tasked with conducting hearings
throughout the state to study public policy implications
relating to the financing of transportation projects. The
commission was to review state motor fuels tax, current sources
of funding for rail and other financing options for roads and
highways. Krier served alongside Ted Houghton Jr. of El Paso, a
member of the Texas Transportation Commission, and William B.
Madden, president of Madden Securities Corp. in Dallas.
Krier
appeared before the Texas
Transportation Commission on February 23, 2006, with a
delegation from San Antonio.
In
2006
Krier created
Texans For Safe Reliable Transportation
(TSRT). Among other activities TSRT
promotes the Trans Texas Corridor.
