Scheel House This is a photo of the Scheel family farmhouse that was built in an area of Fayette County known at the Santa Ana bottoms, near the Fayette-Colorado County line. The original site of this house became a gravel pit. The last residents were John F. "Johnnie" Scheel (d.1974) and Lydia Fritsch Scheel (d.1977) who married in 1927. We believe that Johnnie's parents, Peter Scheel and Lizzie Koehl Scheel lived in the house before them and may have built the house before 1900. (circa 1900) |
