Nassau Bay Police Dept
The City of Nassau Bay incorporated in 1973. The Police Department was
organized in 1975 and officially began at midnight Halloween night 1975.
At 19
David became the police department's very first Reserve Officer (non-paid) in
1977. By February 1978 he was working four 10-hour shifts per week, often
as the only Nassau Bay police officer on-duty.

El Lago
David runs for City Council. He ran against USCG Commander Russo (ret.) and USAF
Col. Mason (ret.). David finished in second place behind Ed Mason.
This candidate's statement appeared in the Exchange News.

A year later
David runs for City Council, again. This time his opponent, Cmdr. Russo withdrew
before the election. Unopposed he won with 235 votes. El Lago's 1980
population was 3,257.

Nassau Bay Police Dept
On October 1, 1978, David became a full-time paid officer of the Nassau Bay
Police Department. The self portrait on this identification was taken at
the booking desk at Seabrook Police Department where Nassau Bay took city
prisoners since Nassau Bay did not have a jail of there own until 1980.
Seabrook also dispatched the Nassau Bay Police Department.
