PREVENTATIVE MAINTENANCE
To keep Siren at the
highest point of efficiency the following Preventive Maintenance
operations should be performed by a competent mechanic every six months.
1. Test Battery Capacity.
2. Test Battery Starter circuit.
3. Inspect Starter brushes.
4. Inspect Generator brushes.
5. Test Generator charging circuit.
6. Test primary Ignition circuit.
7. Clean and regap Spark Plugs.
8. Test Spark Plug Wires for damaged insulation or
loose connections.
9. Test Distributor Cap and Rotor for electrical
leaks.
10. Replace Distributor points and Condenser,
synchronize points.
11. Reset Ignition timing.
12. Inspect Manifold Heat Control Valve for free operation.
13. Clean Fuel Filter sediment bowl.
14. Inspect Automatic Choke operation.
15. Adjust Carburetor Idle Mixture (Engine hot).
16. Adjust Carburetor Idle to 650 R.P.M. (Engine
hot).
17. Adjust Carburetor on fast Idle cam to 900 R.P.M. (Engine hot).
