ALL CLEAR SIGNAL

The all clear signal consists of one steady tone, or blast, of the Siren, produced by maintaining the engine speed constant at 3000 R. P. M., or over.

CAUTION

DO NOT PERMIT THE ENGINE SPEED TO VARY AS
ANY VARITION IN THE SPEED WOULD LIKEWISE
AFFECT THE TONE AND MIGHT CAUSE CONFUSION
BETWEEN THE ALL CLEAR AND WARNING
SIGNALS.

To give the all clear signal:

  1. Turn ignition on. (Clutch must be engaged.)
  2. Press starter button. (Release when engine starts.)
  3. Increase engine speed to 3000 R.P.M., or over, by pulling throttle control out to wide open position.
  4. Maintain engine speed for the desired signal period of at least two minutes, or for one complete turn of the siren unit.
  5. Reduce engine R. P. M. to idling speed.
  6. Turn ignition switch off.

THE PROCEDURE FOR PRODUCING THE WARNING
SIGNAL AND ALL CLEAR SIGNAL HAS BEEN ACCEPTED
BY VARIOUS MUNICIPALITIES AND IS AT
THIS TIME CONSIDERED UNIVERSAL THROUGHOUT
THE COUNTRY.  IT IS, HOWEVER, SUBJECT TO
GOVERNMENT REGULATIONS AND CHANGES.
