Who is David Stall?

Welcome to VictorySiren.com

David Stall

My name is David Stall and this website is my creation.

I established VictorySiren.com as a forum to collect and share information about one of the most interesting sirens ever produced.

The driving force behind this website is the purchase of a Chrysler Air Raid Siren that will be fully and faithfully restored and publicly displayed.  We call our siren the VictorySiren.  [ The VictorySiren™ Story ]

I have a varied background that includes: marketing and advertising; tourism development; museum design, development and operation; manufacturing; local government management; and, civil defense.  I intend to use these skills to produce a traveling exhibit with the VictorySiren as the center piece.  [ The VictorySiren™ Tour ]

As a child attending school in Long Beach, California, during the 1960's I have clear memories of monthly air raid siren tests that prompted classroom Duck and Cover drills.  It was the Chrysler Air Raid Siren that sounded over the Los Angeles basin from locations like Lomita and Glendale.  While I heard these giant sirens I never saw one up close.  Neither did most.  Now I can look forward to showing many of them the impressive machine that generated that warning.

My connection with Civil Defense began with my appointment as Civil Defense Coordinator for the City of El Lago, Texas in 1978.  Later I was Emergency Manager Liaison, then Coordinator for the City of Nassau Bay, Texas.  Today I am the Emergency Management Coordinator for the City of Columbus, Texas.  I also have a background in law enforcement, fire fighting and fire investigation.   As for defense in general I have received both Defense Civil Preparedness Agency & Federal Emergency Management Agency training, and have been involved in the Navy-JROTC, US Coast Guard Auxiliary, Navy-Marine Corp Military Affiliate Radio System, and presently serve as a Local Board Member in the Selective Service System.

I hope that this website is useful and enjoyed by everyone who visits.  Please give me your suggestions, comments and feedback.
