Thomson Financial News

MADRID - Groups led by Spanish toll-road operator Abertis Infraestructuras SA and Cintra Concesiones de Infraestructuras SA have submitted cash offers for a 75-year U.S. toll road concession, the Wall Street Journal reported.

Abertis plus undisclosed financial partners lodged a bid for the Pennsylvania Turnpike lease, as did a partnership of Ferrovial-owned Cintra and Australia's Macquarie Infrastructure Group, the newspaper quoted unnamed sources as saying.

Pennsylvania government advisors have estimated the value of the 500-mile highway at $12 billion to $18 billion, it added.
