Douglas Lee Holmes Following his funeral service at Sagemont Baptist Church in Houston our friend Fire Marshal and retired Senior Captain Doug Holmes was transported on the hose bed of a fire engine to Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Dickinson. Seventeen miles of the Gulf Freeway between Houston and Dickinson was closed for a half-hour to all southbound traffic while the mile-long funeral procession made its way south.
