Appoints Holmes to
Texas Parks and Wildlife Commission

AUSTIN – Gov. Rick Perry today announced the appointment of Ned S. Holmes of Houston to the Texas Parks and Wildlife Commission for a term to expire Feb. 1, 2009. The commission oversees the Texas Department of Parks and Wildlife.
Holmes is the chief executive officer of Parkway Investments, which develops and manages real estate assets in Houston, Atlanta, Denver and Boston. He was chair of the Port of Houston Authority for more than a decade and has served on the City of Houston Planning Commission and the Greater Houston Partnership’s executive committee. Holmes also is a member of the Urban Land Institute. He earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Texas and a law degree the UT School of Law.
This appointment is subject to Senate confirmation.
