Turkey is planning to privatize
its bridges and toll roads, authorities said on
Thursday.

The
operating
rights
for
Turkey's
bridges
and toll
roads
will be
transferred
to
private
enterprises
for 25
years.
The
Turkish
Parliament
is
expected
to enact
a bill
to open
tenders
for the
privatization
of
around
2,000
kilometers
of
highway,
72
highway
maintenance
stations
and a
number
of
bridges.
A
number
of large
international
companies
have
expressed
interest
in the
privatization
process.
Macquarie
Infrastructure
of
Australia,
Abertis
of
Spain,
Brisa of
Portugal,
Itochu
Corp. of
Japan
and
Atlantia
of Italy
are
among
them.
