With construction on SH 130 Segments 5 & 6 scheduled for
2009, the right-of-way acquisition process is getting
underway.
The SH 130 Concession Company, LLC, under the oversight
of the Texas Department of Transportation, has already
begun sending letters to property owners and tenants in
the corridor where SH 130 segments 5 & 6 will be
constructed, an area chosen to affect property owners as
minimally as possible.
The SH 130 Concession Company will design, build and
operate the facility for a period of time on behalf of
the State of Texas. TxDOT will oversee all right-of-way
acquisition and relocation procedures, and the State of
Texas will be the record titleholder to all right of way
acquired for segments 5 & 6 of SH 130.
The 40 miles that make up segments 5 & 6 will connect SH
130 to I-10 east of Seguin to a point north of Lockhart,
which meets up with the existing segments that
ultimately connect to I-35 north of Georgetown.
Construction is estimated to cost $1.35 billion and be
complete in 2012.
