Transportation plan zooms quietly ahead
While its aims are worthy, the Trans Texas
Corridor could create a whole new set of
problems.
Texas is embarking on what the
Texas Department of Transportation describes as
"the largest engineering project ever proposed
for Texas," the Trans Texas Corridor.
Yet, as the wheels churn within the department
preparing for this project, most Texans know
almost nothing about it.
They are not learning about it from the
governor's race. Voters are hearing no more
about transportation than they are about the
state's budget...
