Metropolitan Planning Organizations

Metropolitan Planning Organizations (MPO) are federally designated to work with state and local governments, the private sector, and the region’s citizens to plan coordinated transportation systems designed to move goods and people affordably, efficiently, and safely. 

Major products produced by the MPO include a long-range Metropolitan Transportation Plan (MTP), a shorter-term Transportation Improvement Program (TIP), a Congestion Management System (CMS), and a Unified Planning Work Program (UPWP).
