TransCore designs,
manufactures, and distributes
RFID tags,
readers, and antennas specifically for use in
high performance, high-speed transportation
applications where potentially harsh operating
environments are the rule rather than the
exception products. These applications fall into
two broad categories: (1) infrastructure-based
and (2) asset tracking-based environments.
Millions of TransCore
RFID tags and thousands of
TransCore readers are deployed in
infrastructure-based applications such as
automatic vehicle identification (AVI) in road
tolling, intelligent transportation systems
(ITS), parking, and Homeland Security. More than
65 airports in 8 countries depend on TransCore
RFID products for ground transportation
management and parking applications.
Asset tracking involves automatic equipment
identification (AEI) applications in rail,
fleets and container tracking. Today, 100
percent of all railcars used by North America’s
Class 1 railroads for their automatic equipment
identification (AEI) applications where railcars
and locomotives operate in “interchange” with
each other are required to be equipped with
TransCore’s tags. Throughout the world, spanning
five continents, TransCore has installed more
than 6.5 million tags and 20,000 readers
throughout the rail and intermodal industry.
