CorridorWatch.org - Challenging the Wisdom of the Trans-Texas Corridor.

The Texas Department of Transportation will hold forty-four TTC-35 Study Area Public Meetings from October 19 through November 18, 2004.

Meetings will not be held in thirty-three other counties in the designated study area.

This is the Oklahoma-Mexico element (TTC-35) of the Trans Texas Corridor. For the purposes of the Fall 2004 TTC-35 meetings the alternate corridor routes have a typical minimum width of 10 miles. [map]

Attending these public meetings, you have the opportunity to:

Learn more about the TTC-35 and the environmental study.

Review preliminary corridor alternatives.

Ask questions and provide input to project planners and TxDOT.

These meeting are conducted in an open house format without a formal program presentation.

During the Spring 2004 Study Area Public Meetings TxDOT used the opportunity to lobby the public, deflect concerns and objections, and even lobby elected officials during a private/closed meeting that preceded each public meeting.

Unfortunately, CorridorWatch.org members found TxDOT representatives at the Spring public meetings were not knowledgeable about many aspects of the Trans Texas Corridor Plan and the sweeping provisions of H.B.-3588 authorizing the TTC.

CorridorWatch.org urges that every Texan attend one of these meetings and get their comments on the record with TxDOT.

Please provide us with your comments regarding the overall project, alternatives, or any other project-related issues and concerns.
How would you describe your overall opinion of the TTC-35 project at this time? Positive - Negative/Opposed - Uncertain/Neutral
Please tell us if you know where archeological or historic sites, family cemeteries, landfills, springs, or similar sites are located within the study area.
