Part 7

In the case of Susan Stall, fifth child of William and Susanna Firebaugh Stall, I almost skipped her because I need to spend more time on research on her. But instead, I'll go on with her to keep this in a sort of order. Next let me say this to Marlene, descendant of Susan; HELP! OK, that being said I will continue. I remember the older members of the family talking about the Barricks. I remember Uncle Ed saying about Simon Barrick dying young, but I don't remember how or why. In the old farmstead there was an yardstick with the advertisement "Daniel Barrick for Coshocton County Commissioner". He won the election but unfortunately the yardstick was sold at an auction and is probably in an antique store somewhere. Because Susan lived her entire life in the area and lived until 1909, there should be some pictures of her. I have one I think is her but Marlene has some doubts on it, so I'll include it in the unknown picture section with my comments. To me I see Susan as the unfortunate child, as she outlived two husbands and at least three children. Susan was born near Chili February 17, 1826. She married the first time May 7, 1846 to Simon Barrick. He was born about August 18, 1816 and died August 4, 1850. He is buried in the Kimball's Cemetery between Fresno and Chili. They had two children that I know of:
1. Daniel Barrick born 1847 When Susan was married to Simon they lived next to her parents in Crawford Township, Coshocton County. On December 5, 1854 she married Joseph Kimball. Joseph was born about May 2, 1818 in White Eyes Township, Coshocton County and died in White Eyes Township on April 19, 1892. He is buried in Kimball's Cemetery. Children born to them are:
1. Mary E. Kimball, born 1855, died Nov. 9, 1864 Both of these children are buried in the Kimball's Cemetery. At this time I do not know if Joseph and Susan had any other children. Marlene? Joseph Kimball came from a well to do farming family. Joseph also had a sawmill on his property which bordered the Anthony Stall property in White Eyes Township, not too far from the town of Pearl. The house is still standing and I need to get a picture of it. I will and it will be posted later. Towards the end of her life, Susan lived with her son, Daniel Barrick in Crawford Township. This farm was located about half-way between Chili and New Bedford. She died here on Dec. 22, 1909. It's a shame she didn't live another six months as she would have been on the 1910 picture of the living brothers and sisters. She is buried at Chili next to her parents. Daniel Barrick held several offices in the township including trustee and Justice of the Peace. He was later elected a Coshocton County Commissioner. I don't have his death date in front of me, but as I recall it was in the 1920's and he is buried at New Bedford. All early White Eyes Township records were destroyed in the 1913 flood. OK Marlene, you can take this from here, let me know how I can help you and I will be glad to do the local leg work for you. Be sure and send what you have so it can be posted and this tree can be completed.
