event was a fundraiser to cover the expense of repairing the clock atop the

"King of Western Swing," Hank Thompson. Eager attendees set up lawn chairs

David and Linda sat under the Courthouse pecan trees and ate
a spaghetti dinner served up by the Fayetteville Lion's Club. The
courthouse was built on the square in 1880 for $800, the clock was added 54

At 79 years young, Hank Thompson didn't disappoint his loyal

This was a great opportunity to hear a famous country artist
perform live. Hank was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame fifteen

This is the four-face Seth Thomas clock that was recently
refurbished. The clock was added to the courthouse in 1934 by the "Do Your
Duty Club." The clock bell strikes the hour and a single chime on the half.
David and Linda can hear the clock from the porch of the Rain Creek Farm
