Hurricane Claudette This Galveston radar image show Claudette moving onshore. Fortunately, it continued to move west and away from the Colorado River watershed (Austin area). Despite the distance away from Galveston, this storm still caused significant tidal flooding in the Clear Lake area where David was once city manager and emergency management coordinator.
