VictorySiren Foundation, Inc.

On May 20, 2003, we formed VictorySiren Foundation, a Texas non-profit corporation organized exclusively for charitable, educational and scientific purposes.  The plan is for the Foundation to collect Chrysler Air Raid Siren information, documents and photographs.  Should a siren ever be acquired by the Foundation it could raise funds for the refurbishment.  (05.20.03)

There was a period of time that I thought that we might donate our Pittsburgh Chrysler, VictorySiren™, to the VictorySiren Foundation for restoration.  (02.03)

Detroit Chrysler Siren

Surprise!  On June 25, 2003, a 1952 Chrysler Air Raid Siren was donated to the VictorySiren Foundation.  Presently the siren is located in Astoria, Oregon where it has been stored for the last twelve years since it arrived from Michigan.  The projector horns were removed and the ports plugged for shipping and storage.  Those and other parts are included with the siren.  (05.08.03)

Detroit Chrysler Siren

This is one of twenty sirens purchased by the City of Detroit in 1952.  The serial number tag shown here is attached to the siren. It's among the first sirens installed.  I'm told that the siren was in running condition when it was shipped in 1991.  The Foundation officially accepted the siren on June 30, 2003.  (05.08.03)
