David continued working on the kitchen wall.  With the new framing in place it was time to remove and reset the window and door frame.  (03.14.03)

A double bottom plate is required to provide a nailer for 8-foot sheet goods. Also the door frame is blocked in.  The window can be seen out on the porch.  (03.14.03)

Since the new studs aren't really 2x4 like the old studs, the 1/2-inch difference between the door and the window is made up with
1/2-inch plywood.   (03.14.03)

Siding is put back into place over the new sheeting.  (03.14.03)

The window was reinstalled, this time plumb.  No work was done on the window itself.  Repairs to the glass frames will come later.   (03.14.03)
