Chambers Stove
David and Linda find this great 1940's vintage gas stove during the annual
Fayetteville citywide garage sale. Here Linda discusses the purchase with
the seller. Once converted for propane and installed in our farmhouse
kitchen Linda will be only the second owner to cook and bake with this stove. (07.20.02) |

Chambers Stove
This is a Chambers Model "B".
Here's a photograph of the stove with the top closed. Note that it's on a
pallet and that there's a forklift just to the left that's used to move it.
Yes, it weighs a ton! (07.20.02) |

Another photograph, this time with the top folded back. These Chambers
stoves are famous for their insulation. Their sales motto was, "Cooks with the
gas turned off!" (07.20.02) |

Built-in salt & pepper shakers flank the timer (yes it does work). There's
not as much as a chip on either shaker. (07.20.02) |

The top sports a griddle with a broiler underneath, three burners, and a
"Thermowell." (07.20.02) |

What's a "Thermowell?" Good question. It's a vertical oven that has
custom fit aluminum containers. This stove comes with the 2 and 3
container sets. Think of it as the original crock pot. (07.20.02) |

And look at all those space-age chrome buttons and knobs. (07.20.02) |
