Melrose Megan finds another
"perfect" dress among the thousands in a Melrose vintage shop.
(6/19/99)
This particular shop, Jet Rag, also had vintage materials and rugs. We found a
great French hunt
scene tapestry for the "Lodge" and hand stitched bar linen. The girls of
course found lots of must have items as well. |
|
Julie Delpy Julie Delpy, an actress that the girls recognized in another
vintage clothing store who Linda
and I watched try on endless clothes without having a clue who she was. That
is until we left the
store and the girls told us. Once home I looked her up on the Internet and
sure enough, they were
right! Welcome to Hollywood. |

Ontario International Airport
Tearful Good-Bye at Ontario Airport early Sunday morning. But, wait, the
plane didn't go anywhere for so long that there was no Houston connection
from Phoenix. They would have to come back off the plane after about
30 minutes. With the help of an agent, we rebooked the girls on a
noon flight direct to Houston. (6/27/99)

Ontario International Airport
"They said what?!?" Yes, it's true, yet another delay. After
leaving and returning to the airport hours later for the noon flight,
there was another delay. Then, finally, they boarded the plane for
Houston. Yeah! Wait, why isn't the plane pulling back? A dead battery, yes
somewhere in this second airplane of the day (a MD-80) there was a dead
battery they were trying to charge before take-off. Later we learned that
it wouldn't take the charge and a battery was being borrowed from Alaska
Airlines. Who knows what all was really going on. Anyway, after
another 30 minutes they took everyone off the plane pending the repair.
Hours later parts arrived from LAX and were installed to everyone's
satisfaction. At 6 o'clock the girls boarded for the third time headed for
Texas. Alas they were really going to Houston. (6/27/99)
