Chrysler Air Raid Siren, Lomita Park,
Lomita, CA circa 1999
Photograph courtesy of Mike Grogan.
The lever that is
standing straight up is the clutch. In this upright position the
clutch is engaged. Moving the lever towards the compressor (right)
about 22-degrees over disengages the siren clutch.
The cone
shaped screen at the right is the air intake on the compressor.
Not the battery removed from the siren, it bears a Los Angeles County
label.
Sadly restoration
of this siren was too much of a project and it was scrapped. This
siren is identical to BigRed™.
