WARNING SIGNAL
The Warning Signal consists of a variation in the sound tone of the
Siren called "Warbling". This is produced by increasing the speed of the
Siren Engine to 4600 R. P. M. then decreasing the speed of the Siren
Engine, repeating the cycle in regular intervals for a Three minute
period.
The required intervals can be regulated by using the
second hand of an ordinary watch, a satisfactory fluctuating note will
be obtained by Pressure on the Signal switch on an Eight second "ON" and
Four
second "OFF" cycle, repeating that sequence for the Three minute
duration of the "Warning" Signal.
Remote Control Operation
TO GIVE "WARNING" SIGNAL:
1. Press the Signal Switch "ON" for
approximately Four seconds and release.
2. When the Signal Light GLOWS, it will indicate the
Siren Engine is running and ready for operation.
3. To "Warble" the Siren, press the
Signal switch "ON" for
Eight seconds, release to "OFF" for Four seconds, "ON"
Eight seconds, "OFF" Four
seconds. Repeat in that sequence for the Three minute duration of
the "Warning" Signal.
4. Upon completion of "Warning" Signal
and the release of Signal switch, the Signal Light will continue to
GLOW for a short time delay period and then go out, indicating the
Siren Engine has automatically stopped running.
Local Control Operation
TO GIVE "WARNING" SIGNAL:
1. Move Selector Switch from the REMOTE to MANUAL
position.
2. Pull Ignition Switch to the "ON" position to start
Siren Engine.
3. To "Warble" the Siren, press Throttle Switch
"ON" for Eight seconds release to "OFF" for
Four seconds, "ON"
Eight seconds, "OFF"
Four seconds. Repeat in that sequence
for the Three minute duration of the "Warning" Signal.
4. Upon completion of "Warning" Signal allow
approximately Two minutes time to elapse before moving Ignition
Switch to the "OFF" position.
5. Push Ignition Switch to the "OFF" position to stop
Siren Engine.
6. Move Selector switch from the MANUAL to REMOTE
position.
