HOT NEWS!
THE WHY AND WHEREFORE OF SIRENS

This issue of Chrysler Tonic is devoted largely to a complete description of the air-raid siren designed and built by the Industrial Engine Division of the Chrysler Corporation. The aid of every Chrysler man is needed to facilitate quick and widespread distribution of this essential unit of air-raid defense, as requested by the Government.

Study the pictures and text in this issue carefully, in order that you may be able to tell a full and intelligent story of the siren where it will do the most good. The charts presented herewith v ere prepared by the United States Office of Civilian Defense and their findings are conclusive. Naturally the OCD is interested only in determining the best type of siren, for the work required. It so happens that the Chrysler-Bell Victory Siren is the only one developing sufficient power to comply with what the OCD considers the essential requirements.

Air-raid protection is a matter that vitally concerns every citizen. Whatever you do to further the installation of adequate alarms in your community will be done primarily for you as an individual to whom this protection is essential.
