Super Raid-Siren Here Praised as Among Best

The super siren atop the RCA Building at Rockefeller Center is better than any of the air raid alarms in Philadelphia, Baltimore or Harrisburg. Pa., according to Mayor Albert W. James of Wilmington, Del., who was among the officials on the platform beneath the siren at yesterday's Saturday noontime test of the city's 409 air raid sirens.

"Wonderfully effective." was the Mayor's comment. He said Wilmington has no sirens yet, but is using giant aerial bombs of the type used in London during the first World War.

According to attaches at New York's City Hall, they heard the RCA siren down there yesterday. Police Commissioner Valentine had no comment except to say that the number of "dead spots" not reached by sirens is no longer compiled.
