Today's Zaman

The operating rights for Turkey's bridges and toll roads will be transferred to private enterprises for 25 years.

The Turkish Parliament is expected to enact a bill to open tenders for the privatization of around 2,000 kilometers of highway, 72 highway maintenance stations and a number of bridges.

A number of large international companies have expressed interest in the privatization process. Macquarie Infrastructure of Australia, Abertis of Spain, Brisa of Portugal, Itochu Corp. of Japan and Atlantia of Italy are among them.
