This is not the
time to put so many critical infrastructure elements in one place.
Given the design and placement, the Corridor will be an incredibly
soft target, the protection of which would be not only impractical
but virtually impossible.
The Trans-Texas Corridor will concentrate potential military and terrorist targets
(utilities, rail, and highways). The Trans-Texas Corridor will also create tactical
choke points (1/4-mile long grade separated crossings). The proposed
grade separated crossings in themselves present significant security
breaches across the entire width of the corridor at regular intervals.
Because the alignment of the Corridor is largely rural, the Corridor will be
in areas of the state with the least law enforcement resources.
Virtually any scale of attack could create
tremendous disruptions to transportation and utilities.
