San Antonio The Tower of the Americas was built for the Texas' World's Fair in 1968. The 750-foot tower (to top of antenna) was the theme structure for the HemisFair. It is one of the tallest freestanding structures in North and South America.. It is 87-feet taller than the Seattle Space Needle. David's class was conducted adjacent to the tower.
