Sunday started off cool and ended hot.  Time to mow the yards.  After only a few passes in the front yard the mower broke down (vibration & engine knock, not good).  Fortunately it's under warranty and we'll just take it to the John Deere dealership.  But the mowing must go on, so David mowed everything today with the lawn tractor.  (09.22.02)

Today's project, an electric fence to expand the donkey's grazing area.  We will use 1/2-inch rebar as fence posts.  (09.22.02)

Each 20-foot length of rebar is cut into 5-foot pieces.  (09.22.02)

Called a 'hotwire' this electric cross fence will keep the donkeys where they belong.  There are three small metal wires in this bright yellow plastic cable.  (09.22.02)

A path for the hotwire is mowed through the weeds.  This cable runs between the blacksmith shop (left) and chicken coop (right).  (09.22.02)

Powered up and checked out the fence was ready to go.  Carmela and Anthony enjoy grazing on the new pasture space.  (09.22.02)
