Success!  After our visit to Macy's Classic Stoveworks we discovered how groovy an old gas heater could be once restored.  Here's our find.  (08.17.02)

And a little something for the Scheel House.  Two of the radiants are broken, but we also found that these can be found at Macy's Classic Stoveworks.  (08.17.02)

Wednesday night David upgraded the PC to Windows XP.  It was Thursday night before it was somewhat functional again. Today David downloaded and loaded new drivers for the printer, scanner, etc.  Still there is the occasional glitch that crashes the system.  Thinking that it might be dirty RAM contacts David opened the unit for a cleaning.  That didn't fix it, but he got through several hours of working on the City budget without a crash today.  Yeah!  (08.17.02)

Here's the side of the garage shed that has the storage room.  David has always hated this green color.  He believes that the house and house buildings should be white and the barn and barnyard buildings should be red.  The cutout on the right is where they hung carcasses for butchering.  (08.17.02)

And he's off and painting.  After cleaning the surface a high gloss enamel paint is being brushed on the building.  (08.17.02)

It's slow going but David is making progress and you can see just how different it will look.  (08.17.02)

One side, one coat.  It's getting late, but David went on to paint two sides of the pump house white before dark.  It's unlikely that there will be anymore painting by David this weekend.  Tomorrow we have a fire department fish fry and the rest of the day David will work on the city budget (he has promised to deliver it Tuesday, so the pressure is on).  (08.17.02)
