Fayetteville

First thing this morning (after the post office) we went to Fayetteville Propane and ordered a fancy new heating stove.  This one is dark green, ours will be the exact same style, but in flat black cast iron.  Despite its old-fashion appearance, it is a completely automatic heating system with a wall thermostat just like any other whole-house heater.  The output is enough for our entire house.  (08.10.02)

After a quick trip to Ellinger for a Hruska kolache and a visit to Koehl's for garage paint and a fence post, David returned home to tear down and rebuild our airless paint sprayer (after five years of storage the valves needed a little attention).  Here he is preparing to paint the exterior of the Scheel House.  (08.10.02)

Twenty minutes later you could start to get an idea what it was going to look like.   (08.10.02)

The left side (side porch) and the back that your can't see, already have vinyl siding.  The paint is a temporary measure to keep the Scheel House from deteriorating and to make it look better while it waits for us to finish the Jurecka Farmhouse.  (08.10.02)

Big difference with the porch painted.  All the sudden you can see the doors and windows.  Two of the three sheets of metal skirt are attached, the third (at the far end) has not been attached yet.  (08.10.02)

Here's how far five-gallons and two hours got us today.  Almost everything got painted.  We will need to apply a second coat sometime in the near future.  (08.10.02)

Linda relaxes and takes a look at the work done on the Scheel House.  Behind Linda and the farm truck is the garage shed.  That green building will be painted white to match the farmhouse.  (08.10.02)
